Francie’s career in infection prevention and control spans 40 years in which she has practiced as a nurse specialist and consulted in infection prevention and control in various New Zealand health care settings, both in public and private sectors. She currently works in part time consulting having retired from the chaotic healthcare sector in 2023. She has a long-standing passion in supporting and advocating for post graduate education for infection prevention professionals and is proud of the near 1000 students who have shared their IPC learning journey with her over the past 30 years. Francie has been an active member of the IPCNC holding past positions as Secretary, Treasurer, Website Manager and a Regional Co Ordinator for the Greater Auckland Region She was the founding Editor of the Infection Controlla Newsletter.
