Hello everyone,
My name is Ranjeet, and I am an Infection Prevention Nurse Specialist at Te Toka Tumai Auckland. I have been working in Infection Prevention and Control since 2022 and truly enjoy this role.
I migrated to New Zealand from India in 2001 and began my nursing career at Auckland City Hospital in 2004. I worked in Older People’s Health from 2004 to 2022, where I gained extensive clinical experience and developed a strong commitment to patient safety and quality care. I completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Advanced Nursing in 2012. In 2022, I joined the Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) team and completed the Fundamentals of IPC programme in December 2022. I also completed the ACIPC Foundations of Infection Prevention and Control course in September 2024.
I enjoy learning new things, as learning never ends. On a personal level, I enjoy reading books in my native language, cooking, and spending time with my family. I am married and have one son.
I have joined the IPCNC Committee to support patient safety, share my IPC experience, and contribute to evidence-based infection prevention practices while continuing to learn and grow professionally. I look forward to continuing to develop my knowledge in IPC, sharing this with my colleagues, and working collaboratively with you all.
