Hi everyone, my name is Aleisha and I have been nursing since 2016. I started my journey in general medicine where I completed training as a hand hygiene auditor. After a few years I ventured across to the private surgical sector where I was privileged to be mentored by Jeanette Blucher initially working at 0.2 as an IPCN alongside ward nursing. 2 weeks before level 4 lockdown in 2020 I took on the IPC role in my hospital here in Auckland and have been working 0.8 in the role since, it’s been a whirlwind of learning! I hope to help our committee have a fresh view from a new IPCN perspective, incorporate new technology options and for my personal gain learn as much as possible from our fantastic committee members and our college as a whole! I look forward to seeing where the next few years take our college in a time when IPC is so important.
